Why have we chosen this type of training over any other.

So here's why we combine HIIT training and Strength training at our sessions. 

What is HIIT- High intensity interval training. 

This basically means we do an exercise for set times to maximum intensity. These could be body weight exercises like push ups or burpees or strength exercises using equipment like kettlebells or slam balls. And the time is adjusted too, so it could be as short as 20 seconds or as long as 50 seconds. 

Exercises are chosen to give maximum effectiveness and work different parts of the body equally. So we could be doing push ups and squat jumps, or using Kettlebells for pulls, or slam balls for all over, full body pump. 

Every session will have you working all the main muscle groups and leave you feeling fully exhausted, but also buzzing with endorphins in equal measure. 

Do we do Cardio? Yes! Of course we do, any exercise that gets your heart rate above where it normally sits is a cardio exercise. Cardio doesn’t just mean running, or being boring. Ball slams are a cardio exercise, as are rope slams and mountain climbers. 

And they’ll be some of those.

We combine HIIT and strength training to give the most effective workout in only 45 minutes. 

This system has seen us help more than 6000 people achieve truly life changing results in the last 14 years. 

Here’s the reason why this unique combination works so well. 

Using lighter weights for higher reps builds strength and really helps in the shedding of body fat, as opposed to doing heavy weights for a 1-3 rep max which helps to build size by working the muscle to failure very quickly. 

Body weight exercises, whilst considered by some to be boring, are the grass roots of any training programme and used correctly will produce the most incredible results for anyone looking to get into shape or train for a fitness goal. They shouldn’t be dismissed as ‘for beginners’ or ‘too easy’, if done correctly with the right intensity a really well thought out programme can completely change a person's body composition, to shed fat and gain muscle strength and a toned physique.

This combination of training techniques is also a lot of fun and it means we have a huge variety in the type of sessions we can run, the exercises we can do and the intensity we can produce in those sessions, it also allows for variations to the exercises to suit someone's individual needs. 

This combination also allows us to provide training to a broader section of the local area of Ely, and any one 18+ is welcome to join. Parents, grandparents, pensioners, students, and any one in between can get involved in our sessions and achieve really awesome results in a welcoming inclusive environment.
