Why having a Coach when working towards a goal is the best thing you could do.

So you have decided to start a fitness or weight loss journey… Where do you start?

 

You could join a gym or a fitness class at the local social club, maybe a group programme like WW is where you go? There are also a Million online options for you to consider so you never have to leave the comfort of your home to get the ball rolling. 

 

But in reality, how are you going to fare on your own, flying solo on this journey? 

 

The truth is, and you may have experienced this in the past, the majority of people that start a fitness or weight loss journey on their own don't succeed, and for one reason or another don't stick to the plan.

 

There could be many reasons why you haven't been able to stick it out on these plans before. It could be that the diet was too restrictive and too many of the things you love to eat and drink were just taken away and denied to you, so you break the diet and bring those back, leaving you back at square one. 

 

It could be that you didn’t have any support on your journey, and when you felt like skipping a session there was no one waiting for you to show up, so missing it was easy, and came with little guilt. 

 

If the goal you set for yourself is too big and not accessible, it can feel like a never ending road to that goal and even with progress it can be disheartening. Let's face it, we all want things to happen immediately, we're all impatient. Right?

 

If you start to work with a coach, the chances of getting to your target are so much higher. Your coach can guide you through the process of making your meals goal focused whilst still including in the food/drink that you love to enjoy, in a sustainable way.  A little bit of what you fancy wont do you any harm and means that nothing is ever off the table. Literally. 

 Small changes can be made, that in time will add up to HUGE results. If you don’t want to give up your favorite treats, you don't have to, they can be incorporated into a balanced diet and still get great results. 

If you find it hard to motivate yourself to get showing up to training on your own, then knowing you have a coach, and other people just like you wating for you to show up for the sessions, then your chances of success are elevated. A coach will keep you accountable and focused. 

The coach can also keep your goals small and achievable. So progress feels consistent and always moving in the right direction. If the target is a big one, then a break down of that into smaller bite sized goals is a much better way to hit those targets, and maintain the results. Your coach will be able to help you with this, so your always feeling motivated to continue on your journey.
