Why Is Drinking Water so Important?

Getting enough water each day is vital, Not drinking enough water can cause dehydration, which has multiple negative effects on your health, wellbeing, and overall mood and ability to function.

Drinking enough water allows your body to;

  • Get rid of toxins in your body
  • Promote a healthy gut
  • Keep your body temperature at a good level
  • Prevent dehydration
  • Promote weight loss
  • Flush out toxins

Water is especially important when you are exercising, in hot climates, or feeling under the weather.

When we exercise we sweat, and this lost fluid needs to be replaced, if not, this will surely lead to dehydration and a drop-in health, performance, and wellbeing.

Here are some helpful tips to ensure you drink more water and avoid dehydration;

  • Drink a glass before bed, and a glass first thing in the morning
  • Carry a bottle around with you, to drink throughout the day
  • Swap out a fizzy drink for a water
  • Drink zero sugar, flavoured water if you have a sweet craving
  • Have a drink of water with every meal
  • Take a bottle of water to your workouts
