5 Health Benefits Of Exercise

There are many benefits of exercise and physical activity, and I am going to list you 5 in this post below. 

 

1 - Weight management - Alongside your diet, exercise is vital in managing your weight and preventing obesity and disease, in order to control your weight, the calories you intake must be similar to the energy you burn, to lose weight, you must burn more than you intake, exercise is the perfect way to burn calories. 

 

2- Improve your mental health and mood - During exercise, your body releases "endorphins" which are proven to better your mood, and make you feel more relaxed, this can massively reduce the risk of depression, and leave you feeling better throughout the day. 

 

3- Strengthen your muscles and bones - Regular exercise can slow down the loss of bone density that comes with age, doing exercise that engages your muscles can allow you to increase and maintain your muscular strength and definition. 

 

4- Help your body manage blood sugar and insulin levels - Exercise can help to lower your blood sugar level and help your insulin to work better, these factors can massively reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, and if you already have a form of this, regular exercise can help you to manage it better going forward. 

 

5- Help with relaxation and sleep quality - The Energy you lose due to exercise will cause your body to need sleep in order to fully recover overnight, it can also reduce the symptoms of insomnia, although this is more of a long term fix as opposed to short term. 

 

Exercise does not have to be a grueling 3 hour gym session, it can simply be a light walk or run, anything to get you moving will benefit yourself in the long run. 

 

Bootcamp style "circuit training" is also a great way to get you in shape and keep you in shape, you do not need to do this daily for hours on end, 3 times a week for around 30-45 mins is the ideal time frame to get well on the way to feeling great and looking even better.

 

Benefits of bootcamp style training can be - improved muscular endurance, full body workout, improves cardio, promotes weight loss and management.
